This prestigious honour highlights Western Grater’s dedication to creating an inclusive workplace and supporting diversity in the construction industry.

Western Grater was formed in 1982 and has proudly served the Vancouver Island and BC Coast Construction Market for over 40 years. They specialize in delivering innovative solutions to technically challenging excavation and construction projects within their typical work scopes of Drilling, Blasting, Shoring, Anchoring and Shotcrete installations. 

 

Western Grater Contracting has steadily been creating a culture where everyone is celebrated in their company, with the firm intent of attracting diversity. They have invested in Indigenous employees at Western Grater for training and supporting them in advancing in the company, engaged the local construction association and industry as a whole to increase the representation of women, and specifically worked to accommodate single parents schedule with child care responsibilities. They have also focused on recruitment efforts to diversify among all cultures and backgrounds, and steadily increase their diversity to be more representative of their local community. They strive to treat each employee as an individual while celebrating everyone’s unique background to ensure a welcoming environment for all.
