Let’s talk about your project
Let’s discuss how our team can support your vision and deliver results.
Let’s discuss how our team can support your vision and deliver results.
Offered in conjunction with crane lifting and operations, at Pro-Tech we use state of the art equipment to safely carry and place your equipment. This process is ideal for working in tight spaces and difficult to access areas. Typically, we’ll load your equipment to our dollies by jacking, or using one of our cranes or specialized forklifts. From there, we maneuver from point A to B using specialized casters and/or steering dollies and forklifts, or an electric pusher for propulsion. Once in location we’ll set your equipment in its desired location with laser precision. Our planning and processes are a proven, low risk technique, that has served us and our customers across countless operation sites in the past.
Let’s discuss how our team can support your vision and deliver results.
Our location offers both outdoor and heated indoor storage spaces for your small or large-scale equipment and materials. We have a 52,500 square foot indoor storage facility, as well as over five acres of secure outdoor storage in BC. Our entire indoor and outdoor storage space is monitored by industry-leading security systems, including camera monitoring. We offer short-term and long-term storage rates that vary based on your specific needs.
We are a full-service team, which means we’re available to transport your items to and from our storage location. We’ll coordinate the move with your team and ensure your items get from your site to storage safely. After you’ve completed your work on our site, or your project is ready to continue off-site, we can help with loading, transporting, and unloading your equipment.
Moving your items into our storage space can be facilitated by our professional industrial movers. We have specialized knowledge and equipment to handle your items with the utmost care as we make them easily accessible for you.
Our transport and rigging crews are available to assist you at any time with offloading your items for storage. We’re able to move just about any item in our yard with our jack and slide systems and two 80,000 lb forklifts.
When you need somewhere to work, we have everything you need on site at our yard and warehouse and ready to mobilize. For every need, there’s a solution in-house. Pro-Tech Industrial Movers has access to a full range of tools, equipment, and personnel available at our BC location. Our parent company, Norland Industries, serves the industrial sector in a variety of capacities. When you use our storage facilities, you get the full benefit of comprehensive support for construction, repairs, or upgrades. Many of our clients choose our location as an off-site work site so they can get ahead of their project timelines. As an added benefit, there’s no need to mobilize a crew to a remote or distant location. Instead, you can bring your team to our location or use our in-house industry experts (including on-site mechanics, welders, and millwrights).
We offer short- and long-term storage solutions for industrial projects. Store your equipment or materials in our warehouse or yard until they’re needed. Or, use our storage facilities for short-term storage during project delays or off-site work. When you’re ready to put them into place, contact us for specialized transport and rigging services.

We’ve been pre-planning projects with our customers for decades, which has allowed us to build a great amount of trust in the sectors and industries we work with. Our clients know they can trust us to be around for another 60 years and to deliver on our promises, which is why they’re comfortable calling us early on in the project development.
When we in pre-planning stages, we’ll ask questions like:
What types of equipment and personnel will we need to deploy, and when?
How can we scale this project so we can move bigger sections or pieces in a more efficient way?
What outside factors (such as weather or timing) might contribute to the success or failure of the project?
How can we generate cost-savings with innovative or creative solutions?
We also apply pre-planning to our project consultation services. If you need a second set of eyes on your industrial rigging or moving project, our experts are here to help.
When we dive deep into logistics with companies we work with, we’re conscious of the fact that we’re only one piece of a very large machine. When it comes to projects such as those in the construction, infrastructure, and transportation sectors, we don’t operate in a bubble. We have to consider the structures, equipment, and people around us, while also coordinating details like timing, routes, laws and regulations, and project specifications.
Below are just a few examples of why and how we deal with project logistics long before we’re on-site and ready to move:
When projects take weeks, months, or years to complete, receiving, storing, and moving equipment and materials requires planning. Recently, we helped a client building underground subway tracks lay out their yard in a way that would allow for the easy and safe flow of equipment, materials, and personnel. We planned deliveries for specific times to ensure all the materials needed were on site when they needed to be, instead of taking up space in the yard.
Although we have our own stringent safety protocols, certain projects call for specific regulations to come into effect. In this case, we work with our own safety professionals, as well as other safety consultants and regulating bodies to ensure that every demand for safety is met. Sometimes, this results in creative solutions to ensure we can get the job done without violating safety standards.
When you’re working in, around, or on infrastructure, it’s important to keep the flow of traffic moving around the project, whether it’s boats, trains, vehicles, equipment, or people that need to get somewhere. We minimize interruptions as much as possible, planning out logistics that include the timing of certain outages or restrictions to traffic flow.
Maintaining the regular operations, construction, or daily life that surrounds a project is always important to us. In most cases, we’re able to find ways to be in and out without delaying or disturbing what’s going on around us. In one of our recent port projects, we were able to remove seven gantry cranes while the container traffic kept moving. The client was able to have their highest volume month to date.
Let’s discuss how our team can support your vision and deliver results.
We have a complete line of rigging equipment on hand at our warehouse and ready to be deployed. Our specialized equipment allows us to be more flexible in meeting your needs. We have custom-engineered equipment and strategies for rigging difficult items.
Our specialized rigging solutions are customized to your needs. This means every project starts with a custom rigging evaluation and plan that outlines the tools, equipment, engineering, personnel, and timing for the project, as well as safety considerations. Although we have enough experience that most specialty rigging jobs are not particularly challenging, we always spend the time on a full rigging plan to guarantee safety, quality, and reliability. We understand that as a moving part of your project, you depend on our success to keep the momentum going and complete your work efficiently and at a higher quality standard. We’ll work with you on-site and off-site to develop an innovative rigging plan and coordinate with other teams.
Once the plan is developed and approved, we’ll mobilize our specialized team and equipment within the mutually agreed upon timeframe. Our goal is twofold: to safely and successfully complete the move from start to finish, while helping you maintain other operations or construction nearby with minimal interruption.
Apex Specialized Rigging & Moving has been helping commercial and industrial clients with their specialized rigging needs in BC for over 50 years. Our experience includes both new builds and retrofits. We’ve provided successful industrial rigging solutions for hundreds of clients in a variety of sectors, including infrastructure projects, indoor retrofits, and marine moving. After each successful project, we take our gained experience back to the boardroom and add it to our toolkit for future projects.
