Warehouse / Yard Maintenance Worker - Traxxon Rock Drills

Traxxon Rock Drills (TRD) is an equipment dealer, manufacturer, service provider, and parts distributor located in Port Kells (Surrey, BC). TRD is seeking a Warehouse & Yard Maintenance Worker, reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, to help with our warehouse operations and yard maintenance. The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and be a self-starter.


The Warehouse & Yard Maintenance Worker will coordinate directly with the Shipper and Parts Lead as the link between the warehouse and the shop. They will verify materials required for upcoming jobs, ensuring they are picked accurately and packaged/staged efficiently, so when the next job begins the materials can be delivered immediately. Additional responsibilities may include general clean up in the shop, shipping orders, filling up jerry cans and more. This is an entry level position with lots of room for growth.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Yard Maintenance

  • Organizing drill steel and raw materials in yard – sorting like materials together, breaking down, recycling or disposing of waste packaging material
  • Dumping contents from shop waste bins into the onsite waste disposal bins
  • Picking, packaging, and staging materials used in the production shop
  • Maintaining order and cleanliness of the yard space


Warehouse Operations

  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Picking parts for upcoming jobs, packaging and staging for rapid deployment
  • Delivering and picking up materials to/from production and service shops
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of warehouse racks
  • Re-stocking bins with overflow product on warehouse racks
  • Processing received shipments (materials for stock, or work orders)



  • Demonstrated in accuracy, efficiency, and numeracy skills
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Complying with safety requirements is a must
  • Forklift certification or previous experience are an asset
  • Strong command of English language, both written and oral
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner
  • Must be self-starter, able to identify things that need doing
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Valid Driver’s License


Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

  • Standing/walking for more than 4 hours per day
  • Ability to lift 40 to 50-lbs regularly
  • Operating light equipment:  safety measures are in place for protection of  worker, coworkers, equipment, and buildings
  • Moderate exposure to workplace elements (diesel exhaust fumes, welding smokes), moving equipment or vehicles, loud noises, and grinding:  appropriate PPE is provided by TRD, and each employee is responsible to follow PPE safety
  • Schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm
