Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Always operating an Excavator, safely and respectfully
  • Achieving maximum production with full attention to crew safety and the prevention of incidents
  • Performing daily pre-inspection machinery safety checks, equipment services, and inspection logs
  • Always ensuring effective communication with the ground field crew

What we are looking for:

  • Must have experience with various shoring types and excavations to the maximum reach of digging depth
  • Must have experience working with pipe crews and is comfortable working in tight/deep spaces and in traffic
  • Must have experience digging around live systems, pulling trenches, cutting slopes or grades to finish tolerance
  • Safety knowledge and experience in the construction industry
  • Valid BC driver’s license preferred
  • First aid is considered an asset
  • Fit to work – ability to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift up to 50lbs

  • Being proficient in the use of survey instruments to establish correct grades for construction projects
  • Reading drawings and preparing notes to lay various municipal pipe types and systems
  • Understanding offset layout and cut sheets provided by subcontracted survey companies
  • Maintaining, checking, and transporting survey instruments
  • Communicating effectively with the pipe crew to set pipes or elements correctly
  • Keeping notes to record installation details and accurately/neatly transposing all of those as build drawings
  • Proactively preparing for the upcoming operations
  • Ensuring work is being undertaken safely and maximizing safe production
  • Working with the crew to set grades daily as builds
  • Training and mentoring crew, care, and maintenance of Gradeperson’s tools

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to work under pressure (nothing can go forward until the pipe shooter is ready)
  • Ability to switch to road building when required
  • Demonstrated experience with GPS systems is an asset

We are looking for dedicated members to expand our team as an Air Track Driller, reporting to the Foreperson. Successful candidates will be responsible for supporting various deep excavation and shoring projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate air track drilling equipment for soil nails, anchors, or other reinforcements
  • Clear obstructions, assess ground conditions, and ensure drilling locations align with project specifications
  • Drill holes to precise depths and diameters, ensuring they meet structural and quality standards
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on drills and related tools; report mechanical issues promptly
  • Manage drill rods, and other materials efficiently
  • Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and shotcrete teams to meet project objectives
  • Modify drilling techniques or equipment settings as needed based on ground conditions or unforeseen challenges
  • Control dust, debris, and other environmental factors during drilling operations
  • Always attend all mandatory safety meetings and act/work in a safe manner
  • Review BC1 Call and service information prior to drilling

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years’ experience as an Air Track Driller on projects on a construction site, preferably on a Shoring/Shotcrete site
  • Class 5 Driver’s license is an asset
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted and be fit to work
  • Willing and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Shoring and anchoring knowledge an asset
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and as part of a larger team

  • Leading crews to install deep utilities in difficult ground conditions (open cut and shored excavations)
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to provide clear instructions to the crew
  • Maintaining daily records including crew and equipment time, material receiving, productions and summary of activities on site
  • Training each position on the crew and taking responsibility for the crew’s development
  • Working with the project superintendent to plan ahead and ensure materials and resources are in place ahead of the work
  • Leading from the front lines; directing the work and being with your crew at all times (BEL expects all forepersons to be working forepersons)

Qualifications:
