Copcan Civil LP Acquisition

We are pleased to announce the newest member of the NorLand Family - Copcan Civil LP!

Copcan was founded by the Gregson family and has been working in the civil construction and forestry industry in British Columbia since 1985. The name “Copcan” was derived from “Copper Canyon”, the location of the first project undertaken by the new company.

In 2001, the company added highway and municipal infrastructure services to its portfolio. As Copcan acquired experience and expertise in civil projects, the natural progression was bridge construction and repair work. Copcan's first combined highway and bridge project was successfully completed in 2004. More recently, the company added above grade construction services to complete structural concrete and building construction capabilities.

Copcan continued to develop as a company in all areas and in 2007, it opened Northwest Bay Quarry in Nanoose Bay, BC, offering gravel pit and quarry products for sale. The business has continued to grow and diversify to include infrastructure to support all operations. Its head office in Nanaimo includes a heavy equipment and welding shop, supplemented with a regionally-operated yard and office in Kelowna and an office in Rossland. It has been essential to the rapid growth of the company to assemble a qualified team, which includes the Gregson brothers (Dave and John based in Nanaimo) as well as key operation managers and staff in Copcan's regional locations.

Copcan is an exciting and strategic addition to our group as it brings to NorLand a geographic reach into new markets as a General Contractor. Copcan adds new services and specialist skills, as well as additional quality depth to our major civil projects team. We are delighted to welcome Dave and John Gregson as well as the entire Copcan Team to NorLand!
