NorLand's virtual cleanup

Due to recent BC restrictions, NorLand wasn't able to host our usual NorLand Ave. Cleanup this quarter. As a result, we decided to hold a Virtual NorLand Cleanup from April 22 (Earth Day) to April 30! The idea was to get out into your neighborhoods with friends and family, take a couple of bags, and see how you can clean up your own communities. Everyone Goes Home Safe – we made sure everyone proved they were wearing gloves and following safety protocols while participating in their cleanups.

Not only does it feel great to give back and be a responsible global citizen, but volunteers were also entered into a draw for prizes, plus NorLand donated $10 on every volunteer’s behalf to Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS). Altogether, we donated $130 to CPAWS.

We asked NorLanders to send us a photo of their cleanups and we promised to share them once the event was over. A special shout out to Mitchel Flynn who did five cleanups!

Events like this help to shed a bit of light on how much waste and litter humans produce. Every little change and action we can do to reuse and reduce our waste can compound into a major change that can have such a positive impact! Check out this link from EPA to find out how you can do more.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for living our Shared Purpose of Helping Build Enduring Communities, Together. We are very proud of our NorLanders for getting down and dirty for the sake of our planet.
