Pacific Blasting & Demolition Ltd. Completes First Blast for Emergency Removal of 20 Million Pound Rock Slab Above Washington State Route 503

Pacific Blasting & Demolition Ltd. has completed the first blast associated with the emergency removal of a 20 million pound rock slab in Washington State.  The rock slab came loose from the hillside above State Route 503, approximately 21 miles east of Woodland, causing the highway to be closed since March 13, 2017.  This first blast was designed to produce finely fragmented rock and move it off the slope, to eliminate the need for scalers to complete this work manually.  The video below provides a unique view of the blast!
