On Monday December 9th, LNS held their first annual business unit Christmas Party in the NorLand Stores warehouse. Over the last few months, one of LNS’ initiatives had been to bridge the gap between ‘field’ and ‘office’ staff and provide a more family-like structure for all of their employees.

NorLand Food Drive of 2019 sees Incredible Success!

Every Christmas, NorLand collects food and monetary donations for the Food Bank. This year, NorLand set a goal of $5000 and surpassed it by raising a total of $5,964.92! These funds were comprised of:
$2,575.00 in monetary donations from employees;
$2,500.00 in a monetary donation from NorLand; and
$889.92 of dry goods donation, which is 17 boxes!

Each year, our BCIT Scholarship Recipients are invited to join us at NorLand for a celebratory lunch. This year, we had five of our six recipients come together to celebrate their accomplishments, challenges, and discuss what they have learned throughout the past year.
The Art of Leadership Conference 2019

On December 2nd and 3rd, 33 of NorLand’s B.C. and Alberta team members were invited by President/CEO, Dave Reynolds, to attend the Art of Leadership conferences held in downtown Vancouver and Calgary, respectively. The Art of Leadership seminar and speakers respond to challenges impacting leaders and leadership functions.

CKNW Kids' Fund Pledge Day

The CKNW Kids’ Fund has been proudly helping B.C. kids with specials needs for 75 years. Today, NorLand worked the phones on Pledge Day to raise money for this important cause. NorLand also announced a three-year donation of $75,000!
BCIT Excellence Award: Every Person Deserves to Grow

The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is known for its challenging courses and intense workload. Annually since 2017, NorLand has acknowledged this by awarding a “NorLand Limited Award” and scholarship to two deserving students. This year, the awards went to Angad Aulakh and Joonmin Oh – two students from the Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management program.
Safety Leadership Summit with Todd Conklin

On Friday November 22nd, two groups of Norlanders got together to hear the message from internationally renowned safety guru Todd Conklin. Based on his extensive experience with Los Alamos National Laboratory, Todd Conklin presented a human performance approach to safety drawing upon recent advancements in the field – primarily from E. Hollnagel, S. Dekker and K.
