Project Accountant / Analyst - NorLand Limited

We are looking for a new team member to fill the position of Project Accountant/Analyst based at NorLand’s head office in Burnaby BC, reporting to the Divisional Operations Controller, and working closely with the Operations and Finance teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Financial aspects of one or multiple projects from beginning to end to support the PM and team
  • Implement Internal controls and all recommended enhancements/process improvement, communication and training to ensure accurate job costing on site
  • Manage or handle data collection, analysis and recommendations to help the project stay on schedule and achieve its goals
  • Process vendor invoices and within assigned timelines
  • Provide PM’s with timely, accurate and relevant financial reports, including budgets, cashflows and forecasts
  • Assist PM with Business License, Bonding and Insurance requirements
  • Ensure estimates and forecasts are brought into Accounting software correctly
  • Complete project Reviews and Profit Rec (WIP) monthly and within deadlines
  • Assist with auditor requests as they relate to the project
  • Assist with budgets (BP) and forecasts (F1/F2/F3) as it relates to the job
  • Prepare prebilling reports for Project Manager review
  • Monitor and liaise with customer on receivables ensuring proper billing support in place
  • Manage Job Cost Accounting and reclass entries
  • Provide backup for Admin when required
  • Prepare Financial Statements, Project Reports and other reporting as requested
  • Manage equipment tasks, recording meter readings, data entry, etc. as assigned by the Project Manager
  • Projects as assigned by the Divisional Operations Controller, Project Lead and PM(s)

 

Qualifications:

  • Financial Management program or Junior CPA with business analytical skills
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction accounting and job costing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to work collaboratively with internal and external clients
  • Knowledge of in depth project accounting best practices
  • Thrives in a demanding and stimulating work environment
  • Highly organized and able to work in a high paced environment
  • Advanced Excel skills, ERP and B2W is preferred
  • Must be willing to work on job site and Head Office

 

The typical hiring range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 per year. The exact compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, and other criterion.
