Grain Elevator Demolition

We were contracted to demolish a former grain elevator consisting of a silo annex, workhouse and track shed in Vancouver, BC. The structure was originally built in 1918 with additions to the silo annex in 1932 and covered a footprint of approximately 4,500 m² with a maximum structure height of 50 metres.

This complex and technically challenging project required a number of innovative demolition approaches to ensure structural integrity while maintaining adjacent ongoing rail, shipping and terminal operations. We were honored to win a VRCA Gold Award for our work.
