Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside rigging crew to offload and place equipment using various specialized tools and equipment

  • Exercise good driving manners and taking precautionary measures during inclement weather conditions
  • Safely deliver loads of equipment, including oversize, to our worksites
  • Ensure proper documentation maintained
  • Always maintain good working relations with customers through cooperative attitude
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Willing to obtain tickets/certifications
  • Able to lift heavy items
  • Rigging experience is preferred, but not required
  • Valid Class 1 BC driver’s license is not required but considered an asset (must have clean abstract)
  • Valid Class 3 BC driver’s license is not required but considered an asset (must have clean abstract)
  • Crane ticket, forklift ticket, and oversize load experience an asset
  • Honest, reliable, punctual, positive attitude and flexible availability including work out of town is required

Expected hourly rate:

Copcan Civil, part of NorLand Limited, is searching a Civil Superintendent in Okanagan region with extensive knowledge and experience in city, urban pipe laying and road building to join their team. As a Copcan Superintendent, you will be the leader in providing direction to the trades and construction staff in the field, while coordinating their responsibilities and activities on multiple sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop safety plans specific to projects and ensure the project team works those plans
  • Leads, schedules, and directs trades, subcontractors and other construction staff
  • Mentor foremen and work closely with junior field engineers on site
  • Team with project manager to ensure seamless project delivery to the client and identify critical aspects of execution
  • Problem solve and propose creative project solutions on site in a fast-paced environment under the constraint of tight construction schedules
  • Participate in estimates of execution hours, equipment & other resources required for construction projects
  • Meet with new and existing clients to develop project opportunities through relationships

What we are looking for:

  • 6+ years of leadership experience in the construction sector managing sites and projects similar to the jobs in our project portfolio
  • Background of successfully completing complex underground civil utilities (potable water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, district heating), earthworks, road building and other infrastructure projects
  • Experience working with relevant soil conditions in all applications (peat, running sand, glacial till, etc.)
  • Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field of study is an asset
  • Proven track record of managing a diverse and challenging portfolio of construction projects
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office software

Compensation

The role is a permanent, full-time position with a typical salary range of $110,000-of $135,000 per annum. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Continually look for opportunities to maximize usage of the system to ensure ongoing business process improvement and implementation of best practices
  • Work with users to troubleshoot system problems, address technical issues, and test system solution
  • Work closely with team members and other business areas to mitigate risk around shared elements and critical system dependencies
  • Configure system changes and changes to common data elements across modules, write queries to pull information from the system and conduct system audits to ensure data integrity

  • Oversee the selection and management of casing sizes and drill systems to meet project requirements
  • Lead the bidding process for projects, ensuring accurate estimates, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scheduling, staffing, and coordinating resources for optimal performance
  • Provide tooling support and ensure that all required tools and equipment are available and in optimal condition
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to address job-specific challenges and ensure smooth project execution

We are looking for a Proposal Coordinator to manage the proposal development process, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cohesive submissions. You will play a critical role in strategy meetings, facilitate reviews, and ensure all deliverables align with RFP requirements while maintaining organized systems and databases.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • On all proposals, develop a proposal outline document, schedule/facilitate contributions of all parties, ensure RFP compliance, draft standard proposal sections, facilitate reviews, and perform quality control on final document
  • Participate in proposal strategy and review meetings. Where several disciplines are involved in a submission, coordinate the information of the various disciplines in such a manner that the submission has a uniform and coherent appearance
  • Write various proposal sections, including executive summaries, project descriptions (qualification summaries), matrices and CVs as required
  • Where appropriate, conceptualize and integrate graphics to convey proposed solutions.
  • Assist with managing, monitoring and maintaining the proposal database, files, and systems through appropriate information management systems
  • Keep accurate records on proposals in progress, completed, wins, losses, etc

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong communication and technical writing skills, and an aptitude for understanding technical terminology
  • Attention to detail, coupled with the ability to proofread and edit material, and identify errors and omissions
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant proposal development experience, preferably with BC infrastructure projects or a similar environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma from recognized post-secondary institution in language, communications, marketing, business or engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of industrial construction RFP and EOI processes including bonding, safety, quality control, project controls, addenda, RFI’s, contract types and commercial requirements would be an asset
  • Flexibility to work overtime to meet proposal deadlines when required
  • Ability to read industrial construction drawings and specifications is an asset
  • Previous experience in consulting, engineering or legal and/or major project joint venture experience are desirable
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite tools such as Word; Adobe Acrobat and InDesign are an asset

At BEL Contracting, part of NorLand Limited, we are looking for an Estimator to join our team to produce estimates for a wide range of complex and unique heavy civil infrastructure competitive tenders as well as manage and be responsible for all aspects of construction from start to finish.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Review plans & specifications to determine scope of work and to define project requirements
  • Develop complete estimates for tender submissions on small, medium and large heavy civil construction projects
  • Cultivate and maintain solid, long-term relationships with customers
  • Analyze the project and estimate requirements and establish a plan for developing the estimate
  • Review scope of work, identify subcontractor packages and secure subcontract tenders for inclusion in the estimate
  • Prepare a complete estimate in Hard Dollar including all self-perform items: labour, equipment, materials etc.
  • Conduct an estimate risk analysis and present the project execution plan and estimate details via a bid review meeting to the Estimating Manager and General Manager
  • Work on joint venture major project pursuits (RFQs and RFPs) in cooperation with partner companies
  • Maintain and manage client and stakeholder relationships, and ensure appropriate client communication

 

What we are looking for:

 

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience executing pre-qualifications, estimates, and contract negotiations for small to large heavy civil construction projects in the lower mainland
  • Minimum of 7 years’ minimum experience managing all aspects of heavy civil construction from project start to project closeout in the lower mainland
  • Experience in the lower mainland an asset
  • Eng, EIT, technical diploma or extensive industry experience is an asset Experience in the lower mainland an asset
  • Ability to effectively manage new customer development, customer issues, complaints and inquiries whilst providing excellent customer service
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Projects skills, Hard Dollar experience is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding time management, prioritization, multitasking, and organizational skills

Are you an experienced Project Coodinator looking for your next opportunity? At BEL Contracting, part of NorLand Limited, we are in search of a Sr. Project Coordinator who will report to the General Manager. As part of a team working on various large civil infrastructure projects across the lower mainland, you will be supporting project management and field operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promoting a work environment where the safety and health of all employees, subcontractors, and individuals is
  • Coordinating, tracking, and reporting on various project functions including health & safety, environment, quality, costing, subcontractor progress, and scheduling.
  • Taking project progress photos, quantity measurements, managing hydrostatic and pneumatic utility testing, and coordinating sample taking and lab testing.
  • Working with foremen and superintendents to ensure accurate completion of daily crew reports for payroll and equipment time processing.
  • Analyzing job costing and helping to produce accurate budget forecasting.
  • Working with the procurement team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and
  • Working with senior staff to develop, assess and improve project management and operations
  • Collaborating and assisting Estimators with estimating, including maintaining accurate bid lists, participation in the estimate review and bid wrap up
  • Helping with quantity take-offs, quote solicitation, comparative table analysis, WBS development, and estimate entry NorLand’s bid

 

What we’re looking for:

  • A Civil Engineering undergraduate degree or Civil Technologist diploma combined with up to 4 years of experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Projects skills. Hard Dollar experience is an
  • Ability to work in both an office and field environment, with frequent local travel to work sites, some without convenient access to public transit.
  • Ability to work to deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Able to work outside of normal work hours on occasion to meet the needs of the
  • Confident communicator, with a good work ethic and a willingness to learn.
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Compensation

The role is a permanent, full-time position starting at $80,000.
