In case you missed it, earlier this month we announced the start of a new chapter in NorLand's history. We said goodbye to our longstanding head office on Norland Avenue, lovingly nicknamed "Old Yeller". This office has been in the NorLand family since 1971, and letting go wasn't exactly easy. But with every end comes a new beginning.

BURNABY, BC - NorLand Limited has announced some restructuring to its business to bring greater focus to its operations and the execution of efforts to expand the products and services offered to customers.

On March 11th 2022, NorLand's President and CEO Dave Reynolds announced an initiative to help the people of Ukraine during their struggles. Below is the letter to NorLand to raise awareness for the Canadian-Ukraine Foundation.

Dear NorLanders:

Some of you may recall our news post last year, in which we announced that Pacific Blasting & Demolition’s work on Viterra’s Pacific Port Terminal Elevator (“PAC3”) was recognized with a Silver Award from the Vancouver Regional Construction Association in the category of Trade Contractors, $4M to $10M. The project was first awarded to Pacific Blasting & Demolition back in 2014 and work began in 2019, the project was even featured in the July/August, 2021 issue of National Demolition Association.

This week is Women in Construction Week, and NorLand Limited is spotlighting various women across our businesses.

Today, we are pleased to recognize Melissa Cutchey (Apprentice Mechanic, NorLand Limited).

How did you get involved in this industry?

Today is International Women’s Day (IWD)! This is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It’s also a day to call to action for accelerating women’s equality, originating 111 years ago in 1911. This year’s IWD theme is #BreakTheBias, promoting a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination – a world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Another successful quarterly cleanup for Pacific Industrial Movers (Apex & Pro-Tech) is in the books. We’re always proud to see the impact that PIM makes on their community in Delta, despite being held back by COVID-19 restrictions, weather, or anything else that’s thrown at them.

It has been nearly seven years since Pacific Blasting & Demolition took part in the deliberate sinking of this former Canadian Destroyer. Sunk on April 4th 2015, there wasn't much excitement around this project at the time, but the footage from it is incredible to watch, and it really deserves some attention (Jump to about 0:56 if you just want to watch the explosion).
