Norland Limited

We are pleased to announce that on August 10th, NorLand acquired the Quebec-based drilling supply company ML Air Inc. Founded in 1966, ML Air is a third-generation Leclaire family enterprise that distributes drilling and blasting tools.

'Recently, On-Site Magazine published its annual report of 'Canada's Top 40 Contractors' and Business in Vancouver (a weekly business news journal) published its list of 'Biggest construction companies in B.C. for 2018.' NorLand appears on On-Site's list at #23 with $192,000,000 in revenues for 2017 (last year NorLand ranked #26), and on BIV's list at #7 biggest construction company in B.C.

On Friday July 13^th, a dozen members of NorLand Limited joined together to participate in a garbage and recycling cleanup of NorLand Avenue. The cleanup crew covered ground between the NorLand head office and Burnaby 8 rinks collecting 7 bags of recycling and trash. The bags were separated into mixed containers, soft plastics, paper and garbage then recycled accordingly. The effort was part of the NorLand 'Growing Green' initiative in which NorLand aims to be a leader in the green community!

On June 21, teams from Pacific Blasting & Demolition and Apex Specialized Rigging & Moving participated in a project to sink a concrete ship, the YOGN 82. This was the first controlled sinking of a concrete ship anywhere in the world, and a project our teams are very proud of.

With the NHL playoffs finished and the Washington Capital celebrating their first Stanley Cup Championship, it's time to announce the winners of NorLand Limited's 25th Annual Hockey Pool. Congratulations to our regular season and playoff pool winners!

For the second year in a row, individuals from around NorLand participated in the Workout to Conquer Cancer Month BC. The challenge: participants commit to working out once a day in the month of May while fundraising for cancer research.

We are pleased to announce that Nicolette (Nicki) Wilson, RCSO with NorLand Health & Safety has been appointed to the Construction Safety Officer Certification Board of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC. She and another RCSO, John Frost, were appointed to the board on May 24, 2018.

North American Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSH) week occurs during the first full week of May every year and its goal is to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home, and in the community. NAOSH Week was first launched in June 1997, marked by an agreement between Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

NorLand Limited is proud to present a $20,000 donation to this year's CKNW Kids' Fund at our NorLand Leadership Summit meeting. The CKNW Kids’ Fund has been in the BC community for over 70 years. They support children living with physical, mental, and social challenges in BC by providing grants for essential specialized equipment, therapies, and programs for at-risk youth.

The CKNW Kids' Fund mission is 'to provide timely support to vulnerable kids with physical, mental and social challenges living in BC communities,” is something we pride ourselves in being a part of at NorLand.

NorLand Limited would like to congratulate the 39 employees (and their families!) who participated in the 2018 Vancouver Sun Run.  This was NorLand Limited's third year entering as a corporate participant, and our team finished 9th out of 76 teams in the Real Estate / Development / Construction Category.  It is a fantastic achievement and congratulations to all that participated!
