NorLand is pleased to announce it has sponsored its 11^th class to participate in the Crestcom BULLET PROOF Manager Training Program. The program is globally recognized and teaches participants how to lead more effectively in the workplace and in life. The curriculum includes 24 teaching modules which are covered in a 12-month span (2 modules/month), looking at subjects like "Ten Ways to Increase Morale and Motivation" and "Leadership Influence Through Emotional Intelligence."

Pacific Blasting & Demolition's Blasting Division has performed numerous rock slope stabilization projects for Canadian Pacific Rail over the years, both in Canada and across the United States. Since April 2010, they have had a renewable, long-term maintenance contract to perform all rock slope stabilization on CP Rail lines in the northeastern U.S. and, every summer, their crews travel east to fulfill these contract obligations.

Earlier this month, Western Grater was featured in the first half-2017 issue of the Canadian Edition of Mining & Construction, an international publication. The 3-page story highlights the team's performance meeting an accelerated schedule on a logistically challenging and high profile project on Vancouver Island.

Earlier this week Business in Vancouver (a weekly business news journal) published its list of Biggest construction companies in B.C. for 2016 and On-Site (Canada’s leading commercial construction magazine) published its own list of Top 40 Canadian Contractors for 2016. NorLand was listed as the 6^th biggest construction company in B.C. and the 26^th largest contractor in Canada.

Glacier Blasting is proud to receive the James L. Abraham 2016 Safety Performance Award of Excellence from the Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada for recording zero lost time accidents during 2016.

BEL Contracting thanks Dave Eliason for his 17 years of service and wishes him a long and happy retirement.  Dave first joined BEL in 2000 and served as estimator and project manager for many of BEL's high-profile earthwork, road and utility projects across Metro Vancouver.  His vast experience with estimating, contract administration, purchasing, scheduling and cost control made him a valuable member of the BEL team.  Dave's sense of humour and dedication to his projects and co-workers will be missed.

NorLand Limited is proud to congratulate its corporate team that participated in the Workout to Conquer Cancer and raised over $4,500 for the BC Cancer Foundation and BC Cancer Agency during the month of May.   Our team finished a very respectable 7th out of 15 teams and we're hoping for an even better ranking next year.
