Bell Let's Talk
January 28th is Bell Let’s Talk Day; this is a day to discuss mental health, provide support to those who need it, and continue to work towards ending the stigma around mental health.
According to a Nielsen Consumer Insights Survey, 84 percent of Canadians are now comfortable discussing mental health compared to 42 percent in 2012. While this is a positive increase, we need to continue working towards ending the stigma altogether – because as we know, 1 in 5 Canadians will experience a mental health problem or illness in any given year.

Jackpot for Habitat for Humanity
Demolitions are nothing new for NorLanders, especially if you are a part of Pacific Demolition. There was nothing special about working on the refurbishment of an apartment building on Davie Street in early August 2020. However, an unexpected human impact of the renovation work came to light as demolition crews mobilized the site.
Helping Kids Hit a Home Run, Together
NorLand acquired some new property in Port Kells in February 2020 and we are already using it to give back to our community. NorLand will be fully utilizing it next year (Spring 2021) as it will take time to upgrade it for our needs.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and the 2020 theme is “Not all disabilities are visible.” This means we’re focusing on spreading awareness and understanding of disabilities that are not immediately apparent. This includes mental illness, chronic pain or fatigue, sight or hearing impairments, diabetes, brain injuries, neurological disorders, learning differences and cognitive dysfunctions, among others.
CKNW Kids' Fund Pledge Day 2020
Each year, CKNW Kids Fund has a pledge day where they receive donations; every dollar raised today goes towards enhancing the lives of children in BC living with physical, mental, and social challenges.
NorLand donated $25,000 this year and has donated over $300,000 to date. Now, we're also challenging all construction companies in the Lower Mainland to make a donation!
