Happy Women in Construction Week! Continuing to spotlight our employees, we would like to recognize Pearl Fisher (Pipeline Office Clerk & Former Blaster, Pacific Blasting).

How did you get involved in this industry?

Today is International Women’s Day (IWD)! This is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It’s also a day to call to action for accelerating women’s equality, originating 111 years ago in 1911. This year’s IWD theme is #BreakTheBias, promoting a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination – a world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Another successful quarterly cleanup for Pacific Industrial Movers (Apex & Pro-Tech) is in the books. We’re always proud to see the impact that PIM makes on their community in Delta, despite being held back by COVID-19 restrictions, weather, or anything else that’s thrown at them.

It has been nearly seven years since Pacific Blasting & Demolition took part in the deliberate sinking of this former Canadian Destroyer. Sunk on April 4th 2015, there wasn't much excitement around this project at the time, but the footage from it is incredible to watch, and it really deserves some attention (Jump to about 0:56 if you just want to watch the explosion). 

We just wrapped up another great session with our favourite Sportscaster, Dan Murphy! Watch out for these videos on our social media and tv ads soon! 

This quarter’s workout challenge, dubbed “Season of Challenge”, took place from November 1st to December 10th. There were 10 teams altogether, and 37 NorLanders who participated. There were points to be earned each week based on each participant’s workouts and bonus points to be given out for special weekly challenges.

NorLand Limited and its Business Units were nominated for one award, and won two awards for the 2020 and 2021 COTY Awards of Excellence.

This year, NorLand is proud to support the Virtual Paint + Savour Winter Social Event, hosted by Canadian Construction Women. The event this year is celebrating the 40th anniversary of CCW, which is a huge milestone!

In partnership with Bella Ceramica and Charcuterie Vancouver, attendees will have the chance to paint something amazing in the comfort of their homes while enjoying delicious and creative charcuterie boxes delivered to their doors. 

We are pleased to announce the newest member of the NorLand Family - Copcan Civil LP!

Copcan was founded by the Gregson family and has been working in the civil construction and forestry industry in British Columbia since 1985. The name “Copcan” was derived from “Copper Canyon”, the location of the first project undertaken by the new company.
